The Christmas Project

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year to give a boost to a bigger need at Welcome Home (WH).  If WH wrote letters to Santa, we would send our wish list northbound.  However, since Santa is not real (sorry to break the news), our hope and trust is in God’s provision and that perhaps you would be a part of giving a gift to the refugees this Christmas.

Christmas 2011 Project:  A Custom-Made Double Desk

Refugees at Welcome Home share two side-by-side computers

  • sending photos to their families scattered around the world,
  • chatting on FB, Skype and MSN,
  • learning keyboarding skills,
  • doing ESL homework,
  • and watching news from home online.

Our current desks are disintegrating- not surprising since they’re made of particle-board and get shared by everyone every day!

A carpenter has generously offered to build us a double  custom-made desk, suited to our space and refugee’s needs for years to come.

We’ll get away with just the cost of materials- a bargain, don’t you think?

YOUR gift will help us send the current desks to the woodpile!

The cost:  $500

Your goodwill to these courageous men and women is one way to share the greatest gifts of all: the love of Jesus and a demonstration of peace to those who have seen too much war and conflict.
