Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to the smooth running of Welcome Home and are vital to creating a warm, friendly, and hospitable community for new arrivals.

At Welcome Home, volunteers contribute in many ways, such as:

• Building friendships
• Bringing a meal
• Playing games or music
• Cleaning, painting, repairs
• Helping residents move
• Special events
• Tutoring
• Becoming a Welcome Home Host

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with Welcome Home, you have two options:

 1.     Task Volunteers

Task Volunteers help in areas such as painting, helping someone move, offering their trade or skill, cleaning, etc.  If you are interested in this kind of volunteering, complete our On-line Volunteer Survey to allow us to get to know you a little.  We will contact you to meet in person and to give you an orientation and tour of Welcome Home.

2.     Relational Volunteers

Relational Volunteers build supportive, longer-term relationships with the residents of Welcome Home.  If you are able to commit to this, please fill out our Volunteer Application Form and contact us for a letter that will help you obtain your Police Check.  Your completed form and police check can be submitted by mail or dropped off at Welcome Home.  We will get in touch with you for an orientation and training session.
